With a freestyle jam and a Tito Puente-style salsa number, the show kept moving and showcased the talents of the individual musicians. But the most entertaining segment was a battle between Heatbox Heaton and the hoofers, where each tried to outdo the other in a kind of “the Devil went down to Georgia” format. After a costume change, the whole troupe launched into a grand finale, reprising the signature “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” number, as the dancers and the band reached a tumultuous peak before allowing the audience to regain its collective breath.
